One of the many dilemmas a figure collector faces is how to best display their collection. I know this all too well and in a previous post showed how acrylic steps could be used to maximise the space in a display cabinet. This worked well but with my Petit Nendoroid scattered all over the place I still ended up thinking "How can I display even more figures in the same space?"
The solution came in the form of an acrylic stand, designed not for figures - but cakes! It seems only sensible to take advantage of display solutions invented for other hobbies and that can be adapted for your own.
The acrylic stand I bought consists of three circular tiers with a central pillar. The great advantage of circular tiers is that figures displayed on it can face in multiple directions without being obscured - making it ideal for my glass display cabinet where you can see through the sides as well as through the front.
I've now managed to fit more Petit Nendoroids in the same space without sacrificing the ability to see them clearly. All I need to do is look through the side as well as the front! It also works well looking down onto it, as the upper tiers and figures don't obscure those below.
I still haven't managed to fit all my Petit Nendoroids in the one space but I'm very content with the cake stand... for now! If I've inspired you to get one for your collection, the stand I bought was advertised on eBay but you may also find one through a crafts or cake shop.
